Every year, UCSA nominates undergraduate students to sit on UC systemwide committees that deal with critical policy matters ranging from admissions policy and financial aid to mental health, equity and diversity, and more. These are issues that affect every student in the UC system, and it is vital that our institution has dedicated, vocal champions on these decision-making bodies.
Systemwide committees vary in the frequency and location of their meetings. For in-person meetings, travel expenses for student representatives will be covered by the UC Office of the President.
Descriptions of all committees can be found here. The committees listed below currently have undergraduate vacancies for the upcoming academic year. Applications are due in August, with applications for the GCLC/UCSSC due in June. Please check back for specific application deadlines and updates.
Guidelines for student representatives to Academic Senate committees can be reviewed here.
Please contact Caroline Nguyen at policy@ucsa.org with any inquiries.
Requirements: Systemwide Committee Representatives are expected to serve one-year terms. At the time of application, a candidate must be an undergraduate, graduate, or professional student in good academic and disciplinary standing enrolled at one of the University’s ten campuses and remain in good standing throughout their appointment as a representative. Applicants must be able to attend all committee meetings and participate in student representative conference calls as scheduled.
