UCSA is a student-run, student-led organization with a Board of Directors composed of students elected by our member student governments. UCSA’s Board consists of one voting member per association, the External Vice President (or equivalent.) Additionally, each voting member may appoint two non-voting board members, a Legislative Director (LD) who typically leads legislative engagement and an Organizing Director (OD) who serves as a bridge between student government and the broader student body for their campus relative to systemwide advocacy and skill-building opportunities. The Board also appoints officers in specific subject areas, called Appointed Officers, who are non-voting members and support matters relating to their respective fields.
UCSA also has full-time staff who help guide the board year-to-year by managing the organization’s operations, programming, and planning, as informed by the board, and provide continuity to UCSA’s initiatives at large.
