Here are our top priorities:
- $131 million dollars to support undergraduate and graduate students as the UC prepares to enroll 10,000 new students by 2020. This includes $125 million over the previous years budget to expand services and enrollment and an additional $6 million to enroll 600 new graduate students.
- AB 2017 (McCarty) will provide millions of dollars of California Proposition 63 money for mental health service grants on your campus. This will make progress towards shorter wait times, stronger diversity in counselors, and access to direct services.
- AB 1653 (Weber) focuses on campus climate by regularly providing policymakers and students with more information and data on the status of climates for everyone on a campus. Pick up your school newspaper, it hard find a day where something has negatively impacted campus climate, it’s time to turn that around! Healthy campuses for everyone, we think that’s a great thing.
- AB 1747 (Weber) makes important progress on a problem quietly affecting many students- not knowing where their next meal will come from, if they have one at all. From EBT options on campus to food pantries in student centers, this bill will allow students to focus on late night last minute study sessions, not worrying about going hungry.
